Fall 2015 has seen an impressive ramp up of jobs, thanks to the dedication of our fantastic volunteers. Beyond the very significant contribution to the Collaboration capacity to analyse and understand the new data, the techniques and software developed helped other computing projects:
- An incredibly successful year summary
- Behind very great results lies great computing : an ATLAS news item
- ATLAS High Performance Computing Initiative Wins Award : same team, same software architecture
Volunteers are currently simulating events where two high energy photons are produced. This is one of the golden decay channels where the Higgs boson was first observed in LHC Run1 data. The amount of data collected up to now in Run2 is not sufficient yet to carry on with the Higgs boson properties analysis, but it will be in 2016 and we have to prepare with extended simulation.
