CERN organises every year a Summer student program. Students come from everywhere in the world, work with us for a few months and follow courses covering all our activities, from detector oriented to physics analysis and theory. They are recorded and the most relevant are linked below :
- In the course called From raw data to physics results (1/3)" you will learn more about the essential role of simulation (pages 35 to 38) and how we use the Z boson (page 50).
- In the second course of the kind, From raw data to physics results (2/3)" the topics of detector simulation, comparison with data and systematic uncertainties are expanded a bit (pages 45 to the end)
- The last lecture From raw data to physics results (3/3)" will lead you from the Z up to the famous Higgs signal and say a few words about computing needs and organisation (slides 50 to 54)
